AbsoLutes

AbsoLutes is a group founded by Maria Wilgos and Klaudyna Żołnierek, lutenists, and guitarists specializing in playing historical variants of these instruments. AbsoLutes primarily focuses on Renaissance and Baroque repertoire. These include duets originally written for baroque lutes as well as their own transcriptions of instrumental music for two lutes, and for baroque guitar and theorbo.

Ribaldi

Ribaldi is a female vocal-instrumental quartet specializing mainly in performing repertoire from the 17th to the 18th century. The name of the group derives from the Italian word “Ribaldo,” (in Polish – “rybałt”), which means a wandering singer who earned a living by performing in taverns and traveling from town to town. The mission of Ribaldi is to showcase to listeners the beauty, vitality, and universality that characterize the repertoire of early music.

The members of the group are:

  • Magdalena Pikuła: soprano, percussion instruments
  • Marta Schnura: mezzo-soprano, flute
  • Agnieszka Zińczuk: mezzo-soprano, percussion instruments
  • Maria Wilgos: lutes, guitars, voice

ALTA early music ensemble

The ensemble of historical instruments Alta concentrates on promoting early music with special focus on the music of Polish and European Renaissance. At the beginning connected with The Lublin Castle, it broadened its activity step by step and today it performs with great successes in Poland and abroad. It took part in Polish and international festivals, such as Knights Festival in Israel, International Festival “Salesian Summer” in Przemyśl or Festiwal Piotra z Grudziądza, and its members have performed in France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Mexico and Ecuador. In the concerts the artists present the sound of historical instruments, such as lutes, shawms, pommers, cornamuse, viola da gamba, recorders, vielle and hurdy-gurdy.

Intemperata

INTEMPERATA is a group of young artists, friends, who have set themselves the main goal of promoting music performed on historical instruments. The ensemble consists of many instrumentalists, chosen interchangeably depending on the program being prepared. The group’s diverse repertoire includes both well-known works of Baroque music and those rarely performed, which are also warmly received during concerts. On a daily basis, the artists are associated with many cultural institutions, conducting rich artistic and pedagogical activities. They are all graduates of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz.
