AbsoLutes is a group founded by Maria Wilgos and Klaudyna Żołnierek, lutenists, and guitarists specializing in playing historical variants of these instruments. AbsoLutes primarily focuses on Renaissance and Baroque repertoire. These include duets originally written for baroque lutes as well as their own transcriptions of instrumental music for two lutes, and for baroque guitar and theorbo.

Ribaldi is a female vocal-instrumental quartet specializing mainly in performing repertoire from the 17th to the 18th century. The name of the group derives from the Italian word “Ribaldo,” (in Polish – “rybałt”), which means a wandering singer who earned a living by performing in taverns and traveling from town to town. The mission of Ribaldi is to showcase to listeners the beauty, vitality, and universality that characterize the repertoire of early music.

The members of the group are:

  • Magdalena Pikuła: soprano, percussion instruments
  • Marta Schnura: mezzo-soprano, flute
  • Agnieszka Zińczuk: mezzo-soprano, percussion instruments
  • Maria Wilgos: lutes, guitars, voice
